Here you will find a place where board members, grant seekers, and the local community, can join together in discussing and implementing positive change within our city. We will feature plenty of exiting updates and media content for new and existing grantees. Much of this site will be dedicated to current trends within the non-profit sector, developing new relationships, broadening our awareness, and focusing on the issues that are truly impacting Chicago’s youth.

A bit of history…

We have built our organization on the success of Albert J. Speh and Lawrence J. Speh who were responsible for creating a business model that served several fortune 500 companies! May & Speh was founded by Albert J. Speh in 1947 as an IBM tabulating company. Eventually, Lawrence Speh took over as CEO and built on the foundation established by his father and revolutionized the way businesses conduct corporate outsourcing and direct marketing.

Ultimately, the values that led to the success of May & Speh allowed us to positively influence a community that has been a home to generations of our family. Since 1996, we have aligned ourselves with policymakers, non-profits, and community leaders to serve Chicago’s youth.

In 2003, we narrowed our focus to young people between the ages of 13-19. As we continue to evolve, we must redefine our focus based on the ever changing needs of our community as well as our country. While we continue to focus on the organizations that have had such a significant impact on the city, we are looking for new organizations that are focused on meeting the highly competitive educational demands that our nations children currently face. Organizations like Urban Prep are at the forefront of our agenda, and we continue to look for new opportunities to target and impact various sectors of our community.
